Saarbrücken-Dudweiler (ots) - At noon today, around 14:50 p.m., there was a serious accident in Dudweiler in which a motorcyclist was seriously injured.
After initial investigations, a 65-year-old man from Dudweiler drove his motorcycle on Sulzbachtalstraße in Dudweiler, in the direction of Saarbrücken. At the confluence with St. Avolder Straße, a 71-year-old woman from Dudweiler ignored the motorcyclist's right of way with her car and a collision occurred at the confluence area.
Both vehicles were no longer ready to drive. The motorcyclist was hospitalized with serious injuries. The driver was unharmed.
The exact circumstances of the accident are currently being investigated. An expert was also commissioned in this regard.
As part of the accident record, the officers discovered that the motorcycle was possibly traveling with a wrong registration number and was not registered. Investigations are still ongoing in this regard.
If the suspicion is confirmed, criminal proceedings will be initiated against the motorcyclist for violating the compulsory insurance and vehicle tax law.
The driver is expecting a complaint for negligent bodily harm.
