66825 Nohfelden-Bosen (ots) - On Sunday, March 28.03.2021th, 13.30, around 66825 p.m., a 12-year-old boy from Schmelz with his surfboard on the Bostalsee took part in a course under supervision in XNUMX Nohfelden-Bosen. When it capsized in a part that was not visible to the supervisor, the boy first tried to paddle ashore, but did not succeed. So he got into the water and swam ashore. He received help from passers-by who had observed the incident and immediately dialed the emergency number.
In the meantime, the supervisor went to the boy's location in a boat, wanted to pick him up and bring him to the base. There was a misunderstanding with the first aiders, who were already waiting for the ambulance service.
Since the exact location was not known, it took a long time until the ambulance service including the emergency doctor arrived and brought the boy to a hospital for observation because of slight hypothermia.
A total of 50 members of the surrounding fire brigades and the rescue unit of the DLRG were on duty.
