Neunkirchen (ots) - On Monday, April 26.04.2021th, 16, around 15:33 p.m., a PI Neunkirchen police force became aware of a blue BMW in the area of Bliesstrasse as part of the patrol. A 33-year-old man from Schiffweiler, known to the police, was recognized at the wheel by the colleagues deployed. The officers deployed were also aware that the XNUMX-year-old man was currently being sought with an arrest warrant.
When the patrol team started chasing the blue BMW into town, the BMW accelerated sharply and the 33-year-old tried to flee. The chase led from Bliesstraße via Fernstraße and Zweibrücker Straße to the BAB 8 junction Neunkirchen-Oberstadt. On this route, the 33-year-old accused drove completely recklessly, sometimes up to 130 km / h and completely in the opposite lane. A large number of road users were forced to evade and thus endangered, which is why the pursuit was able to be maintained in an extremely defensive manner and at a reasonable distance. In the Bliesstrasse / Fernstrasse traffic circle, the driver damaged both left wheels of the blue BMW by driving over the curb. As a result, both tires lost their air, so that the BMW slowed down and the distance to it could be reduced. In order to escape the police command anyway, he finally drove the exit from the junction Neunkirchen-Oberstadt (direction Luxembourg) in the opposite direction onto the motorway. In doing so, he collided with a delineator post on the edge of the road and ultimately parked the BMW in the junction area with the BAB 8 through carriageway and escaped on foot over the adjacent embankment in the direction of the “Kasbruchtal” forest area, where he was lost sight of for the time being.
As part of the conversion of the area with the support of the service dog squadron, the accused was found in a rainwater drainage pipe and arrested without resistance. The accused was apparently under the influence of BtM.
The subsequent investigations showed that the accused did not have a valid driver's license. Furthermore, the blue BMW was not registered and the number plates attached to the car were stolen.
During the search of the car, a not inconsiderable amount of narcotics was found and confiscated.
After a blood sample was taken from the accused at the police station, he was then brought before the standby judge in Saarbrücken for the purpose of issuing the warrant of arrest. After the arrest warrant was issued, the accused ended up in the Saarbrücken prison.
PI Neunkirchen is also looking for witnesses or road users at risk due to the accused's driving style. Please contact them using the contact details of PI Neunkirchen.
