Saarbrücken (ots) - On Sunday evening, around 22:00 p.m., witnesses from Breslauer Strasse on Saarbrücken's Eschberg dialed the emergency number. They described that the car in front of them bumped into a parked vehicle and continued on its way undeterred.
The alerted Saarbrücken police officers searched for the fugitive driver involved in the accident and found the vehicle in a dead end in the Mecklenburgring. The car came towards them and drove into the patrol car. The police stopped the car and arrested the driver.
The 46-year-old driver was heavily drunk behind the wheel. It also turned out that he did not have a valid driver's license. Now the driver is expecting criminal proceedings for endangering road traffic, escaping traffic accidents and driving without a driver's license.
