Bad Kreuznach (ots) - Since the morning of October 06.10.20, XNUMX, the Bad Kreuznach criminal inspection has received numerous reports from victims who have received calls from alleged fraudsters. The previously unknown perpetrators pretend to be police officers, as already known from the “false police officer” phenomenon. Victims are told that any outstanding monies would have to be paid in connection with the execution of an arrest warrant. For more specific information you have to contact the public prosecutor. The victims are given a phone number for this. When contacting the alleged public prosecutor, he will inform you that you have to transfer the money to an account abroad. Be vigilant. Neither the police nor the public prosecutor's office will ask you to make such money transfers over the phone and provide your account details! The callers and contact persons are not public officials. End the conversation immediately, do not transfer any funds or give them or valuables to strangers. Contact the police or their relatives using the telephone numbers known to you.
