Beware of fraudsters: Customs do not require payment via prepaid payment service providers

Saarbrücken (ots) - At the moment, there are more and more information from attentive citizens at customs that fraudulent e-mails with the sender address of a postal service provider are in circulation. Customs and tax payments are requested by email using anonymous prepaid payment service providers.

The subject of the e-mails is "(Parcel) notification: REGIONAL CUSTOMS DIRECTORATE", the specified parcel tracking number is "RS2020L1990654791".

German customs never request payment of import duties via prepaid payment service providers.

Be careful and contact your main customs office or the police if you receive dubious e-mails.
