The DFB announced in the morning that 1. FC Saarbrücken has received the license to participate in the upcoming third division season. This means that planning security also exists for the FCS. Frankfurt was chosen as the venue.

Because of the Saarbrücken Ludwigspark various delays The club will have to move to an alternate stadium at the start of the season. The FCS would temporarily play in the PSD-Bank-Arena on the Bornheimer Hang in Frankfurt, where the FSV Frankfurt usually plays its games. This applies provided that spectators are admitted to the upcoming season.

The FCS played the last games at the Völklingen Hermann Neuberger Stadium. In the event that no spectators are allowed at the beginning of the new season or only very limited at the games, there is the possibility for clubs with alternative venues to make an exception request so that they can still play at home at this time. However, this is only conceivable if the stadium in question only falls below the audience-relevant requirements such as the required space for the 3rd division (at least 10.001 people). The other requirements must continue to be met, reports the DFB.

It is not yet known whether the previous Hermann Neuberger Stadium can serve the FCS in the event of “ghost games”. An answer to our inquiry is still pending.
